Sensory Gardens
I’ve just been watching a programme on the television where a group pf people came in and built a sensory garden for a particular family.
Losing Things
And finding them as well, actually. It is really easy for ANY child to lose things, but it’s easier generally speaking for children on the spectrum to lose things.
Anxiety and Depression Toolbox
Did you ever play hide and seek when you were a child? I used to like it very much and played it quite a bit when with friends.
Hide and Seeking with things
Did you ever play hide and seek when you were a child? I used to like it very much and played it quite a bit when with friends.
Kevin’s birthday
Well today is his birthday and it has been a great day. To see him develop and change through the years we have been together has been extraordinary.
Medication and wheelchairs
Anyone who has a chronic condition tends to be on medication and/or using a form of walking aid - moving from sticks, to crutches.
Effects of a seizure
I wasn’t quite sure what to call this, to be honest with you. First, I want to start with thoughts about my seizure and afterwards and the long term effects you probably have no idea of, if you haven’t faced it or learned about it.

This and that
I had another fall earlier this evening. Annoying. I mean, REALLY annoying. I was trying to help Kevin by going into the porch area or the cats area.
Can you win by not engaging with a child?
By not? If you have laid down rules in the house, every one of your children MUST obey them 100% of the time, surely? Of COURSE we have to respond every time, don’t we?
Johnathan’s Games
There are what I think of as a few types of games in Johnathan’s life – ones that he found on the internet and was extremely careful about what he chose, even as a young child.
Wedding dresses and other things
Ok, yes, If you’ve read anything in the past about the subject you will know I am a sucker for them – well, most of them.
Brace yourself - we’re in it for the long haul
And that is the simple truth - you have to realise that as a parent, carer or guardian of someone with special needs their need does NOT end once they have the diagnosis.
Disabled adapted properties abroad
As you know if you’ve read anything of mine over some time, I enjoy seeing all sorts of housing programmes - both at home and abroad.
