The Olympics
Yes, I know I don’t often talk about them, but actually, I do enjoy watching some of the events. Anything with horses, gymnastics in all its forms, and ice skating—these are the things Kevin and I enjoy watching.
In fact, Kevin and I have had some surprises in our time together with sports we didn’t think we were going to enjoy at all. We put the Olympics on and discovered events we had never thought of watching.
We discovered a love for bowling that we had never anticipated. It is easy to understand what is going on, and quite honestly, we enjoyed it so much that we didn’t want to stop.
It was quite something to watch the young girl win her diving event and seem so overwhelmed; it was touching to see. Oh my goodness, another thing we enjoyed!
Darts and archery. Well, darts in the 1980s was "Bullseye," which we both watched with our parents. I believe it changed the whole concept of darts from just being played in the pub to something significant, making it enjoyable for the whole family. I suppose archery is the natural follow-on from darts, or vice versa.
I can’t remember if we love anything else at the Olympics, although I don’t think I would ever be able to watch rock or wall climbing. Just the thought of them going up and the potential fall is almost too much for me.
So, now it turns to you. Which sports do you like to watch, and which ones have surprised you over the years? As always, I am around, and if you want to send me a message or anything, please do.
