The Power of “No!”
I wanted to write a bit here first before I introduced you to the poem You Can Always Say “No!” The word no can be extremely powerful.
Early signs of autism
We were actually quite fortunate when Johnathan was born, because I half expected him to be autistic (there is autism in my family) and I believe Kevin is probably on the spectrum too.
Johnathan And Me
I have been thinking about our relationship and I would say it’s actually beginning to get better, in spite of the double stay in the hospital.
Helicopter Parenting or Natural Safety
There is so much we can think about in our day that is actually rather critical. And we can talk to ourselves about things we think we know about ourselves. But that doesn’t mean that is true.
Critical Thinking
There is so much we can think about in our day that is actually rather critical. And we can talk to ourselves about things we think we know about ourselves. But that doesn’t mean that is true.
Belief And Autism Once Again
One of the things I wanted to talk about was something that happened to us this morning. It’s been something we have been dealing with for quite some time.
Belief and autism
I’m not really sure how I will write this, It’s a bit unusual, actually and I can’t quite figure out the words to use
Hospitals - yuck! Or maybe not
Well, actually, that’s a yes and a no. There are some good and bad things about them. You meet all sorts of people who are there to care for you because you can’t be nursed or looked after at home.
Unhelpful thoughts and autism
I thought I would touch on this aspect of autism because this is something a lot of people on the spectrum experience without really understanding that they are doing it.
Sudden Changes and Autism
Johnathan asked me (while I was in hospital) if I could write about changes and I think he’s right so I decided that I would focus on sudden changes.
Comfort vs Comfort Zones
I was just driven to write this by a picture with words on I was doing some digital colouring on. And it made me consider the differences between the two.
Hopefully tomorrow
I am home again and wanting to write to you but my brain isn’t there yet so am going to give it a try tomorrow. Please forgive me for the inconvenience.
Busy, busy
Busy, busy, always busy, With far too much to down, When will we ever learn, To slow down and take it in.?
Totally out of my depth!
Hello everyone, My name is Clare. I’m one of Anika's friends. Unfortunately Anika has been readmitted to hospital. She has asked me to let you all know.
Start of November
Well, we have just had Halloween and Johnathan had a wonderful time, decorating the house and outside, having bought two massive tubs of sweets for the large number of children he expected to come.
I can see the light in you
I can see the light in you, The one you think is gone, Creation battles for you, Inspiration for your dreams.
Appointments and autism the third
Now what shall I move onto next. Ah yes, DENTISTS. OMG! Dentists! Bad enough seeing them in the first place for yourself but for a child? ! And one on the spectrum? Oh no!
