Start of November

Well, we have just had Halloween and Johnathan had a wonderful time, decorating the house and outside, having bought two massive tubs of sweets for the large number of children he expected to come.  He had his own outfit and he went out trick or treating with Kevin.  This was the first holiday he ever celebrated.  Personally I never celebrated Halloween before I came to Scotland - well, actually it didn’t really impact me until Johnathan first did so.

I don’t know if you know 1 November is All Soul’s Day.  This is a day we light candles for our children in heaven and all the other souls who have made it to heaven.  Of course there is no way we can tell WHO is in heaven because even if someone has been evil all their lives, they can still repent and God can still forgive them in the last moments of their lives.  Catholics, of course, believe that the souls of those who have been declared saints by the church have made it to heaven.

And for me, of course, the start of November is when I published my first poetry book, Our Brave New World which is a selection of 40 poems which I created to help and support others who are going through hard times.  And NOW, I come to tell you that I am creating the second edition of Our Brave New World!  It will be sold from my website, not Amazon or Apple and will be available from 1 December.

The second edition of Our Brave New World will have all the poems from the first book and some other poems that you haven’t seen yet.  And you’ll see the picture that inspired 8 poems including the poems, of course.

I know you haven’t seen me for a few days but I was in hospital.  I’m home now and doing ok and am now waiting for an outpatient appointment as a follow up.  And life keeps going on even when you’re stuck in the hospital and not living life.

And yes, this is shorter than normal but I am still trying to recover my thinking brain.  I am grateful for you all and delighted you are happy reading my work,  Talking of shorter things, I got inspired by someone’s artwork and wrote a short two verse poem.  I will be writing about it before the end of the week so that you can see the beauty in the art and poetry together.  A combined, powerful force I believe you’ll find it.

Anyway I’m off for now, so I will say goodbye and send love and blessings to you.
