Our animals
After meeting Kevin and his house cats, I asked the vet how to help them get along. The vet recommended keeping two cats in the room at night and one by day.
New Floor Is Down
Oh my goodness! We had a really manky carpet in the hallway - pale lilac and grubby as you like. I had been saying I would change the carpet soon…….what’s soon anyway?
A word came to me
Do you know how difficult it can be to find words to use and sometimes something just really clicks with you even when you’re wondering what to say?
Autism and Starting or Finishing
There was a little funny incident today that just sparked off a recognition of the irritation I used to feel when Kevin took his time with things.
Is it personality?
I just literally heard someone say that it was their personality to be hard on themselves. And I started musing. “Is it? No, really. Is it?” Would that be your personality?
Mental Health Week
Hey Everyone, I am writing to remind you that next week is Mental Health Week. Johnathan is getting involved in the school things via mental health and is going to be focusing on moving.
Fitting clothes and autism
Now this (as any carer of someone with autism) is a trial and a half. The child has particular needs that need to be met when choosing something for them to wear.
Compassion to OURSELVES
Oh boy! Did I REALLY mean US? I have to show compassion to myself? Oh my goodness, that’s not easy. No, I’m not saying it’s easy, I’m saying it’s something we must do.
Compassion to friends and family
So we are down to friends and family. Well, it’s not down, really. It’s the ONE place in your life where you need to have grace and mercy, not judgement.
Compassion in business
There are so many businesses in the world. And I believe that in every one of them they need to be compassionate.
Compassion
I’ve been thinking of this word a lot recently. I guess it’s because of what happened to me at the hospital. I had a woman I felt I could trust., show me compassion.
Families are all different
Families are all different. And we all come and leave the same way. Some of us with more or less money than others. That isn’t important.
Our bodies and burnout
I am in a place where I can say I don’t THINK I have ever had burnout, but actually I’ve come pretty dang close to it.
Our Bodies Two
I was thinking about the last post I wrote and I was thinking about the times when we think we need to push our bodies, but our bodies simply CAN’T take it, so they fight back.
Our Bodies
I will admit that I don’t know about you, but, during COVID and now, in particular, I basically let myself go and didn’t take care of myself. Do you take care of yourself?
Missing a toy and autism
I have dealt with many children and missing toys and there has been some level of upset depending on how attached the child is to the toy that is lost.
OMG! It was a medical emergency!
As I wrote to you already, you knew I had been to hospital for a procedure which turned into an absolute NIGHTMARE of a time that I still have not fully recovered from.
Hi everyone
I know I haven’t written much this week but I went into hospital to have a procedure done and was allergic to some medication I was given.
What you are
Do you know what really pisses me off? People that tell you they know what you are or what you are feeling. Because they DON’T!
