Cats Are Funny
I don’t know if you know much about cats or have had one or two or whatever in your care. There are so many stories and photos on the internet of cats. And surprisingly many people believe they are stand-offish. Kevin is really good with them and he believes the problem is people’s lack of understanding of cat behaviour.
When I was driving to Scotland, I was worried that if I stopped something would go wrong so I was trying to drive safely but as fast as I could, keeping the speed limit. Now I had my cat, Mia, in the seat next to me in a dog crate so that she could see me. She was a rescue cat so I had no idea about her previous life - well, as much as the rescue place knew.
So here is me, in a car, with a cat in a cage, bits and bobs in the back ready for my new adventure. I had never driven any long distance with an animal in the car before, and I had no idea how Mia was going to take being moved from one country to another in such a long journey.
Well it was epic. She spent the journey either yowling or howling piteously at me. I thought the cage ,might be better than a cat carrier because at least she could see me and know I was there. It probably made no difference, but she had to come, like it or not.
I met Kevin my future husband and he had two cats - Gobbolino and Sootica. And the very first night we spent together, she KNEW she was not meant to throw all the paperwork off the side so she did it bit by bit, glaring at me any time she stopped. She was as determined to get me OUT of the bed as I was to stay IN it. It actually became funny in the end and she was trying to think of other naughty things she could do so she climbed the curtains, yowling at Kevin.
Unfortunately we both laughed at her antics which did NOT please her and for a YEAR if she thought I was looking at her, she would turn her head away from me, her nose in the air. She did not deign to notice me. I was totally in her bad books….why should SHE be put out of the bed, when I arrived in the house later than her. What funny experiences with two cats…
