Hospital x-rays today
Well, as you can see I went for x-rays today. And it was quite a lot of effort to even get out the door. At least my anxiety was more or less under control while I was out. I still needed to have someone with me as well, but at the moment, that’s par for the course.
I can’t remember if I told you that Tara (the little cat) loves to have what we call her “dog food treat” of licking the spoon we use to put it out in the bowl. But Melody (our larger and older one) has never shown interest in the dog food. Maisie also likes the cat food and we were giving her a little bit every night. So, you know, it’s share and share alike.
Anyway, the vet suggested we get Maisie her own dog food biscuits, so Kevin ordered them. And they came via special delivery. We put them in the kitchen next to the wet dog food without thinking. I mean, there was nothing really to think about. Later that day, we heard weird noises and Kevin went to investigate them. There was Melody, tucking into the biscuits with great abandon!
So that was fun! We had no idea that she would even be interested in DOG food! She enjoys the new biscuits we have had to get for her many health issues and it was just so unlike her. Anyway, the issue is now resolved as Kevin has put Maisie’s biscuits out of reach of EITHER cat!
And I am completely off the topic of my x-rays today! Well, it doesn’t hurt to chat about something else. Fortunately the x-ray went ok, although I didn’t realise how MANY x-rays they would need or all the different positions they would need to put me in! Elaine, the Professional Organiser who accompanied me said we needed to go and get a mug of tea afterwards. I hadn’t realised the pain I would be in because I didn’t know the positions I would be put in. I had imagined 3 x-rays and they’d be done. Ah, no.
Well the x-rays are done and I could wait up until two weeks for the results from the doctor. Yay. Not. Thank goodness the medication for my anxiety worked and I was able to go. My pain and suffering was par for the course of what they did. So I am glad it was ok, and am looking forward to getting the results and finding out what exactly is going on and (hopefully) which part of my leg is causing the problem.
