Happiness

Do you know what?  I was down and getting even more down last week.  I was having tremendous pain and with my mind getting very disoriented I have no idea NOW to slow the process down or stop it and couldn’t see any way ahead for myself.

As I approach the last few days before I turn fifty I was getting a bit down and depressed.  Not really the time to run around and be happy-y, I thought, but to sit and decide how I had failed all these years….

You know my joy about the painting Happy from Lea Hughes?  Well we have had Council workers doing some work on the roof and doing something with the house insulation.  Anyway we had a small leak from wind and driving rain (that we get more of up here than some do!) in the sitting room next to me above the picture.  I have loved it since I saw and bought it, so I asked Kevin to take it away so it didn’t get ruined.

Well, I was getting rather down and not knowing why – maybe just about my birthday.  Anyway I asked Kevin if he could bring it back and hang it up next to me and OMG!  I cannot control my smile.  It has brought back happiness to me that I never understood.  All I can see is colour and beauty.   I also have another of Lea’s work opposite my bed that I can look on even in the dark because Kevin has a dim blue light everywhere in the house in case any of us need to get around without disturbing anyone else.

TREASURE

My friend, Lea, does beautiful work that I hand’t realised impacted me so much.  I am so blessed that she can create these soul-stirring pictures and not even in a style I thought anything of in my younger days.  What style do you like?
