Determined

One of the things that singles out an Olympian is their determination.  Just see them ready to perform the task in front of them.  They have learned and practised things OVER and OVER and again, until they know it absolutely perfectly and can do it almost by rote but their routine or pattern of racing or whatever it is, is done with FOCUS.  

The whole training for four years focuses on the determination and ability to get through what they have to no matter what happens.  And they do what they do and have done over the four years prior to that – WIN!  Does everybody in the Olympics win what they do?  Of course not!  But they have achieved tremendously in their chosen sport.

When you look at the world around you, there are so many different professions around and you have to focus in them, but do you have the determination just to keep going and get your reward for whatever you do at some point in the future?  Look at her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  She was on the throne until past her platinum anniversary and has been the longest reigning monarch.  And she was utterly DETERMINED to do what she felt was right for the country and kept doing so up until the day of her death.

Of course you can be determined to do the wrong thing too.  I am sure you will have realised by now.  But even if you have, you CAN choose to do the right thing now.  Not everyone has become an Olympian, and certainly none of us has worked as long and as hard and as devotedly as her late Majesty the Queen did.

Determination can be used for good or ill, but personally I would love to determine, use and do whatever is good in this world and who desire the same for themselves.
