Anika’s Pick of the Week 5

CHANGE

There are many changes that are going to come about with all of us in the family.  And there are some benefits that will be coming all the changes that are happening.

It’s exciting and nervy at the same time.

Times are different now and things change.  Kevin has now left his old job and will now be working in Renfrew in management role.  I am SO PROUD of him for getting his new job.  No more having to work evenings, he can wheelchair it to work so that’s wonderful.

What I didn’t realise was that Kevin was going in 3 days a week and not 2 it was a bit of a shock and I didn’t cope well with the knowledge.  But, I forgot that I had a whole weekend with him and Johnathan, so it’s a blessing.

One of the changes I have already instigated is that my main carer comes and does some with etching with me every other Monday.  Johnathan wanted to join in the etching so he could be doing some with me.  Great, that is a wonderful idea.  However, he used his tool to do it really quickly going over the lines with great glee.  I was working on it slowly.  

Unfortunately, poor  Johnathan was now feeling unwanted and didn’t want to do any more.  I was talking to my therapist about it and she asked me why I didn’t go through the lines and just DO IT!  So I am expecting the next time I want Johnathan here, we can have fun going “over” the lines.

I understand now that you really CAN draw over the lines and I’m going to have fun doing it with Johnathan soon.
