A fuller explanation of the assessment
I had the carer office person come to assess me. It took 3 hours and went through EVERYTHING carefully - so carefully that we touched on the past and all the baby losses. And she believes that I need MUCH more care than has been allocated to me. She has gone to make referrals to different departments and they are going to help me with my medications. Also she is ensuring that ALL personal care stuff is catered for and continue with the four visits a day. She also believes I need a befriender to come and see me a couple of times a week and thinks our house is FAR too small for us because we just DON’T have the space we need. She is going to help me with talking to a housing officer to see what we could get IN RENFREW so we don’t have to move Johnathan out of school! The plan is to get me as much support as I need and give me the tools to do the things I can without me falling over or ending up in hospital. She said if I had any problems to ring her. And that it’s time for me to begin to learn the things I can do without falling and how to prevent the falls. Going out and cooking meals are a bit far off but ARE achievable. With all this support, my mind should be clearer for writing and that should help my mental health which will have an impact on my physical health and vice versa. I explained to her that I only HAD Kevin and Johnathan here in life now. There is NO QUESTION or REASON to MOVE me from the life we have but it’s putting the supports in so that I can HAVE a good family life.
