I want to say something

One of my greatest weaknesses is giving into people that I put on a pedestal and begin to believe that what they say is right.  And I watched an episode of Bluey where I saw Bingo (her little sister) give the three choices she was allowed that day away to different members of her family.

And I could totally see myself and be completely crushed (as she was) because I had done the same thing myself.  I was very fortunate in my early days with Kevin that he totally understood me and this need to say yes to anything to anyone I thought knew better than me.

My older bridesmaid decided on the dress she was going to wear and I agreed to it just because she wanted it.  She didn’t have the same colour purple that was on my dress, which I had wanted, but I gave in.  And the dress she chose was beautiful, I don’t deny that, it just wasn’t what I had been thinking.

When I was first looking at wedding dresses I was looking at ones that were in shops that I could kind of “make do” or “settle for”, but Kevin wanted me to go to a proper bridal shop so I did.  My bridesmaid took me into Glasgow into a shop.  Kevin gave me a specific budget that I wasn’t going over.  And I said to the ladies I wanted something with a bit of colour in it, preferably purple.  AND THEY DELIVERED!  The very LAST dress I tried on in the shop was a size 28 and they pinned it on me so that it looked a size 8.  Now I said to Kevin that it made me feel the best I had ever felt in my life so I KNEW I had to buy it.   The others were ok, but THIS, THIS ONE was it!

And there was no animosity between us.  My bridesmaid liked what she chose and I LOvED the wedding dress I chose.  The wedding shows I have seen tell me that you have to LOVE the dress and I did.  Waiting for the actual day was almost too long even though it was only 5 months.

So, I wanted to give you an idea of how I got what in the end was beautiful and gorgeous,  Find what you believe to be beautiful on you and choose what you love.

I can only say that I believe I looked stunning on my wedding day and when I saw Kevin, I could see his face light up and he did say my wedding dress was beautiful.
