Great Writers

I know we know of the Great Writers, like Shakespeare.  But when he was alive, do you really think everybody knew him.  Well, they MIGHT have known the Writer of Dudley’s Men, but I doubt it very much.

You see, there is a problem with  writers as well as artists.  Take Jane Austen for example, she wrote all these books and meaning and things I have no idea she wrote about.  She actually published Pride and Prejudice herself and ended up living in poverty and dying with her head in her sisters’ lap.

Actually I didn’t mean to sound so negative but the truth is that not all poets become the Poet Laureate.  And not everyone wants to be.  You are well, I wouldn’t say OBLIGATED, to .  Some authors, as in every walk of life, are at different levels in their journey and that’s ok.  You just need to be confident in what you do.

And I think another thing we need to remember is that we don’t ALWAYS be great in our lives.  If you think about it, Olympians start with a FOUR YEAR goal that may or may not get to be achieved.  Some only want to go for one medal in one sport(like diving or short races) and are only on the international scene.

We can all learn how to be kind to others no matter what job they have.  Your job doesn’t define your identity.  I am definitely NOT my writing – you have to get to know me as a person.

Truthfully I KNOW that yes, my writing is quite low now and there will probably be gaping holes that I cannot see or even understand which would be possible with someone else.  So don’t think you are the best you can  be until you have done all you can do and can achieve.
