Disappointment
Do you ever get disappointed with something? I am sure you do, because it is the same for all of us. The reason I ask is because today I was.
I was due to go to a medical appointment and was waiting on a taxi……and waiting on them….and waiting! They were due to arrive at 2.30 to get me to the hospital and leave me a wee bit of peace before my appointment.
It takes about 10 -15 minutes to get there, so I wasn’t really concerned. Asked Kevin at 2.45 if they were on their way….nope they STILL hadn’t assigned a driver. So I got hold of the hospital and spoke to an assistant who went to the doctor. Unfortunately they finished at 3.30pm and as it would be my first visit so they would need to spend more time on me (as to be expected). So I needed another first appointment sent out.
For me, it was disappointing that I didn’t get to go out, but it was also a relief in some ways because it meant I didn’t have to go out 3 days in a row or see a number of strangers.
So disappointment for quite a number of people, but you know what? When it comes to the actual appointment, other things will have been done and maybe this one will be much easier to work with.
So we need to make the best of things. Life doesn’t come as we expect, but we need to face our disappointment and learn to move on. Yes, I’ll have to go to the hospital again, yes this may be different but it is just how life is.
