Being an Influencer

One of the things I have had to learn and discover is that if I am not careful, I can be a negative influence on other people. Not that I want anything bad to happen to them - quite the opposite! And I want whatever I do in the way of influencing others a postive experience for both myself and them but also take the time to learn something either about or for myself that help me as well.

I was chatting to someone here in the hospital and telling them that when Johnathan was born, he has quite extreme sensory issues. When he was baby I would sometimes creep into his bedroom with nail scissors in my hand and try and get one or two nails cut. He is a very light sleeper so it wasn’t easy!

Johnathan FINALLY started walking alone he was 19 months old! He COULD have done it alone LONG before he was even a year old….but he was discovering that certain things would cause unpleasant feelings for him and so he quickly learned to understand why and how these things happened and figured out ways to stop them coming to him.

When Johnathan was at nursery, they would go out with the children and he would be very careful INDEED when they were going along a pavement. He had judged it from a safety perspective and realised that the rush of a vehicle COULD cause him problems so he kept well away from the road and as close to whatever adult/older child he was with.

TREASURE

There is no need to be a negative influence on others. Or allowing them to be one on you. One of the ways to do it is by learning how to choose what is right or wrong for you.
