The Joy Of Spring

I was wondering what to write about and my friend Clare asked why I didn’t write about the joy of spring.  Well, I just hadn’t thought about it so I thought I would write to you about it.

Two things that come to mind when I think of spring are lambs and daffodils.  The lovely fleeciness of the lambs, and their joy as they bound around in the sun is amazing to be seen.

I remember seeing Jacob’s lambs (black and white ones) as a child just across the path from us.  Quite truthfully I don’t remember if there were daffodils in that field or not.  And it’s not important.

The joy of spring is different to other seasons, I believe because of the new growth and new development in the world.  Whenever we listen to the world around us, it seems to play a different tune of joy to the one we hear at say Christmas.

As her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II said in her speech about Easter during covid, we need to hold on to the hope of the Easter message.  And this is as important as it is to remember the joy of this season.

What is it that you remember or hold onto during the spring?  Please do share.
